LIVIA PULJAK

Livia Puljak, MD, PhD, is a full professor at the Catholic University of Croatia, where she is also the Head of the Center for evidence-based medicine and healthcare. She graduated from medical school, and obtained her PhD from the University of Split School of Medicine. She was trained in the United States, Italy and Canada. Her research interests include research methodology, evidence-based medicine, clinical epidemiology and pain. She has published more than 200 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, and mentored more than 60 defended diploma, Master and PhD theses. She was inaugural director of Cochrane Croatia. In 2017, she was awarded with the Chris Silagy Prize from Cochrane, for her contribution to developing evidence-based medicine and in 2019 with the Bill Silverman Prize for a research article with the best criticism of Cochrane. She was listed among 2% of researchers with the highest citation impact in the world in years 2020 and 2021.
